TCAT Upper Cumberland Expansion Strengthens Workforce Training Pipeline

As employers across the Upper Cumberland continue searching for skilled workers, Tennessee College of Applied Technology Upper Cumberland is expanding its ability to prepare the next generation of talent.

Construction continues on TCAT Upper Cumberland's new Bledsoe County campus in Pikeville, a 14,000-square-foot facility that will increase access to career and technical education for students throughout the region. The project represents a significant investment in workforce development and will help meet growing demand for skilled workers in high-demand industries.

The expansion comes during a period of growth for TCAT Upper Cumberland. The institution recently completed its merger with the Livingston campus and has expanded training opportunities in several workforce-critical fields, including diesel technology, power sports technology, industrial maintenance, electrical systems technology, construction, and masonry.

These programs align closely with the needs of regional employers, many of whom continue to face workforce shortages in skilled trades and technical occupations. By increasing training capacity and expanding access to industry-recognized credentials, TCAT is helping create a stronger talent pipeline for businesses throughout the Upper Cumberland.

Workforce Connections continues to partner with education providers, employers, and community organizations to ensure training opportunities remain aligned with workforce needs. Investments in technical education not only create opportunities for students but also support economic development by providing employers with access to skilled workers.

As the region continues to attract new businesses and expand existing industries, facilities like the new Bledsoe County campus will play an important role in preparing residents for high-demand, high-wage careers close to home.
