Overton County Residents Invited to Explore Careers Through RIVET Virtual Reality Experience
Career exploration is becoming more accessible in Overton County as Workforce Connections prepares to bring its RIVET Virtual Reality Career Exploration program to Livingston this July.
The event, scheduled for July 9 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Livingston-Overton County Chamber of Commerce, will introduce participants to a variety of career pathways using immersive virtual reality technology.
RIVET was developed to help individuals make informed career decisions by providing realistic previews of occupations that are in demand across Tennessee. Through virtual reality simulations, participants can explore workplaces and job responsibilities in industries such as healthcare, advanced manufacturing, construction, logistics, and public service.
For many people, choosing a career path can be difficult without firsthand exposure to different occupations. RIVET helps bridge that gap by allowing participants to experience careers in a safe, interactive environment before committing to training or education programs.
The event also provides an opportunity to connect with Workforce Connections staff and learn about local workforce services, training opportunities, and resources available to job seekers throughout the Upper Cumberland.
As economic growth continues across the region, programs like RIVET help ensure that residents are aware of the opportunities available close to home and have the tools needed to pursue them.
The event is free to attend and open to individuals interested in exploring careers, building workforce skills, and learning more about employment opportunities in the region.
