New Wage Reimbursement Opportunity

Introducing Empower Works: A New Wage Reimbursement Opportunity for Empower Certified Employers

Workforce Connections, in partnership with Empower UC, is proud to offer Empower Works - a new opportunity designed to strengthen our local workforce while directly supporting employers.

This wage reimbursement program is now available to all Empower Certified Employers, giving them financial support, recruiting tools, and a direct connection to job-ready participants eager to gain meaningful work opportunities.

What Is Empower Works?

Empower Works is a wage reimbursement program that helps offset the cost of onboarding new employees. Through this initiative, certified employers can receive 50% reimbursement for participant wages, excluding overtime, for up to 320 hours of work. That’s nearly eight weeks of full-time pay covered, helping you train new team members without taking on the full financial burden up front.

In addition to wage reimbursement, participating employers receive full support from our Workforce Connections team, who serve as the liaison between employers and Empower UC Navigators. We coordinate the placement process, help screen candidates, and assist with onboarding paperwork to ensure a smooth experience for both employers and participants.

How the Program Works

  1. Certification: First, your business must become an Empower Certified Employer. Learn more to see if you are eligible.

  2. Job Placement: Empower UC Navigators identify participants who are ready for work and will submit their applications for your review.

  3. Onboarding Support: Workforce Connections establishes Empower Works contracts, assists with all paperwork, and coordinates the onboarding process.

  4. Reimbursement: Employers track hours worked and submit monthly invoices to UCHRA for reimbursement of 50% of the participant’s wages, for up to 320 hours.

Why Get Involved?

Empower Works offers a practical and cost-effective way to grow your team, support training, and contribute to workforce development in your community. Participants gain experience, employers gain reliable support, and the local economy grows stronger.
