Beyond Sports Gear: A Workplace Built on Teamwork

Wilson’s plant is renowned for producing high-quality baseball, football, basketball, and tennis gear used by athletes around the world. But the magic happens in Sparta—where pride, craftsmanship, and a deep sense of community drive operations:

  • “Their work ethic, commitment to quality, loyalty and the pride with which they do their work are the driving forces behind the longevity of Wilson in this area”  .

  • Leadership encourages togetherness: “It’s very much a team environment… the President… can call many of us by name”  .

Crafted Culture: Why Certification Matters

Wilson’s certification reflects more than a nod from Empower—it’s a validation of:

  1. Fair wages and comprehensive benefits – from healthcare to retirement plans.

  2. Career development – including internships in product development, strategy, and innovation at their corporate and plant levels  .

  3. Team-first culture – where employees hail empowerment, respect, and genuine camaraderie.

Local employers like Wilson uplift the entire Upper Cumberland:

  • Supporting a stable, skilled workforce across Putnam, Overton, and White counties.
