Ready Set Hired Event to Support Job Seekers at Putnam County Library

Workforce Connections will host a two-day Ready Set Hired event in Cookeville designed to help job seekers strengthen essential skills needed to compete in today’s labor market. The event will take place on January 21 and January 22 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Putnam County Library and is open to the public at no cost.

Ready Set Hired is a job-readiness workshop series focused on practical preparation for employment. Participants will receive guidance on resume development, interview readiness, and effective job-search strategies. The sessions are structured to provide clear, actionable tools that attendees can apply immediately as they pursue new job opportunities or career advancement.

Hosted by The American Job Center, the event reflects the organization’s broader mission to connect individuals with education, training, and employment resources across the Upper Cumberland region. By partnering with community spaces like the Putnam County Library, The American Job Center aims to make career services accessible in welcoming, familiar environments.

The two-day format allows participants to build skills progressively while reinforcing confidence in presenting themselves to employers. Attendees may benefit whether they are entering the workforce for the first time, returning after a period away, or seeking to refine their job-search approach. No prior experience is required, and the sessions are designed to be approachable and supportive.

We encourage community members to attend both days if possible to gain the full benefit of the workshop content. Space may be limited, and participation is on a first-come basis.

The Ready Set Hired event underscores the importance of preparation in an evolving job market and offers a practical starting point for individuals ready to take the next step in their employment journey.
