LEV Manufacturing to Bring Nearly 300 Jobs to Putnam County

A major economic development announcement is set to bring new jobs and investment to the Upper Cumberland, as LEV Manufacturing will establish its first Tennessee facility in Algood. The project will create 288 new jobs and represent an investment of approximately $7 million in Putnam County.

Announced by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, the new facility will serve as LEV Manufacturing’s primary U.S. assembly, logistics, and fulfillment center. The site will play a key role in supporting the production and distribution of electric bikes, including products associated with Rad Power Bikes following their acquisition by Life EV Group.

The addition of LEV Manufacturing marks a significant milestone for the region, reinforcing the Upper Cumberland’s growing reputation as a hub for advanced manufacturing and logistics. The creation of nearly 300 jobs offers new opportunities for individuals across a range of skill levels, from assembly and operations to logistics and distribution roles.

For Workforce Connections, projects like this highlight the importance of proactive workforce development. As new employers enter the region, ensuring a ready and skilled workforce becomes critical. Workforce Connections works closely with companies to support onboarding, training, and workforce pipeline development, helping connect job seekers to new opportunities while supporting employer success.

This announcement also reflects a broader trend of companies investing in sustainable and emerging industries, such as electric vehicle and mobility technologies. For the Upper Cumberland, attracting employers in these sectors strengthens the local economy while creating long-term career opportunities.

As LEV Manufacturing prepares to launch operations in Algood, partnerships between industry, workforce development organizations, and training providers will play a key role in ensuring the success of both the company and the regional workforce.
