L.B.J. & C. Development Corporation serves twelve counties across the Upper Cumberland with a focus on early childhood education and family engagement through their Head Start program. This federally funded initiative offers comprehensive services for low-income children and families—from education and nutrition to health and parental involvement.

📍 Teacher Assistant – South Cookeville Head Start
This role is ideal for someone who loves working with preschool-aged children and wants to contribute to their early development.
Location: Cookeville, TN
Pay:
$13.53/hour with High School diploma or GED
$14.79/hour with Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
Hours: 8 hours per day, full-time
Benefits: Health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plan, paid holidays, sick and annual leave
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
CDA (Child Development Associate) required within two years of hire
Valid driver’s license and transportation
Background check and physical required
Preferred:
AA in Early Childhood or related field
2+ years of preschool experience
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
📍 Family Engagement Specialist – Celina Head Start (Spanish & English Opportunities)
If you’re passionate about working with families and providing critical support services, this position offers a chance to make a real difference.
Location: Celina, TN
Pay: $16.05/hour
Hours: 8 hours per day, full-time

Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
SSCBT certification (required within 18 months)
Valid driver’s license and transportation
Background check and physical required
Preferred:
AA/BA in Human Services, Sociology, or related field
2+ years of social service experience
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Experience with low-income families or nonprofit/community organizations
