As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other challenges, empowering them to lead fulfilling lives in their homes and communities. Position Overview
Direct Support Professionals assist individuals in daily living and community engagement while ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Positions may involve providing care in private residences and supporting individuals with varying levels of independence.
Specialized Jamestown Opening (Male DSP Required):
We currently have a Jamestown individual who requires two male Direct Support Staff per shift. The individual lives in a private residence, is highly functional, and enjoys active daily community involvement. This role offers consistent engagement outside the home and a dynamic, rewarding workday.
Key Responsibilities
-Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
-Monitor and document overall health status
-Provide person-centered care in accordance with established care plans
-Respect and advocate for resident rights
-Support community integration through social activities and outings
-Promote independence and skill development
-Administer first aid as needed and maintain a safe environment
-Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care
Qualifications
-Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
-Knowledge of resident rights and advocacy principles
-Ability to monitor health status and understand vital signs
-First aid skills and ability to respond effectively in emergencies
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Commitment to compassionate, respectful home and community care
-Flexibility to adapt to varying client needs
-Male applicants required for specific Jamestown assignment
