April Workshops Offer Continued Support for Job Seekers in Cookeville
Job seekers in the Upper Cumberland will have access to a new round of free workshops this April, offering practical support for building skills, improving job readiness, and navigating today’s workforce. Hosted by the American Job Center, these sessions are designed to meet individuals where they are and provide tools that can be applied immediately in the job search process.
The month begins with a Resume Workshop on April 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Cookeville American Job Center, located at 620 South Jefferson Avenue. This session focuses on helping participants create or refine resumes that clearly communicate their skills and experience to employers.
On April 14, attention shifts to workplace readiness with a Soft Skills workshop from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a Navigate Like a Pro: Jobs4TN Basics session on April 16 that helps job seekers effectively use Tennessee’s online job search platform. Together, these workshops address both the interpersonal and technical aspects of securing employment.
Later in the month, an Interview Preparation workshop will be held on April 23 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., offering guidance on answering common interview questions, presenting strengths clearly, and building confidence in professional settings.
The final workshop of the month, Computer Basics on April 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., provides foundational digital skills that are increasingly essential for job applications and workplace success.
In addition to workshops in Cookeville, a special event will take place at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Livingston on April 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., giving participants an opportunity to explore technical training pathways and career options in a hands-on environment.
These workshops reflect the ongoing commitment to providing accessible, no-cost workforce services across the region. By combining skill development, career guidance, and practical training, the American Job Center continues to help individuals build confidence and take meaningful steps toward employment.
