Dometic Expansion Brings 90+ New Jobs to White County
Manufacturing growth is continuing in the Upper Cumberland as Dometic announces plans to expand its existing operations in Sparta, creating more than 90 new positions in White County.
The expansion will include the relocation of steering and helm manufacturing operations from Pennsylvania to Tennessee, bringing additional manufacturing capabilities to Dometic's Sparta facility. The project will increase production capacity while strengthening the company's long-term presence in the region.
Dometic is a global outdoor technology company that develops products for recreational vehicles, boats, cars, and outdoor activities. The company's Sparta facility is part of its global Marine business, manufacturing products that support boating and outdoor recreation. Following the expansion, Dometic will employ more than 300 people across Tennessee.
For White County, the announcement represents more than additional jobs. It creates new opportunities for residents to build careers in manufacturing while strengthening the area's existing industrial base. As companies expand their production capabilities, demand grows for employees with skills in manufacturing, equipment operation, production, quality, maintenance, and other technical fields.
Workforce development plays an important role in making that growth possible. Workforce Connections works with employers throughout the Upper Cumberland to help businesses develop and strengthen their talent pipelines through programs such as apprenticeship development, Incumbent Worker Training, recruitment assistance, and connections to qualified job seekers.
Dometic's decision to expand in Sparta also demonstrates the value of an established workforce and the partnerships supporting employers already operating in the region. The company specifically recognized its partnership with the state, White County, and the Upper Cumberland as part of its continued growth.
As White County continues to attract investment and existing employers expand, workforce partnerships will remain essential to ensuring local residents are prepared to take advantage of new opportunities. The Dometic expansion is another example of how business growth and workforce development work together to strengthen communities across the Upper Cumberland.
